Evil Factor: He is a playable Nazi, nicknamed the Butcher, he is very sadistic, relishes in blood and murder, backstabber, and is the sole catalyst of the existence of the Nazi Zombies mode
Insanity Factor: He is a sociopath, loves severed body parts, sadist, treats zombies as his children, and his quotes suggest that he is in fact insane
Powers: After the Moon incident he gains control over the zombies, becoming the demonic announcer, and is the creator of most of the wonder weapons (especially the DG-2 Wunderwaffe)
Occupation: Nazi, Doctor, member of Group 935, developer of wonder weapons, currently he is the Demonic Announcer in Black Ops 2

Description: Words can barely describe the full insanity of this twisted madman, in order to discover the true depth of his madness, you would have to play as him in the Nazi Zombie maps prior to Moon. He often mentions blood and murder and has no concept of emotions. Dr. Richtofen is the person that inspired my nickname, Dr. Evil. Zombies under his control have blue eyes while those that are controlled by the original demonic announcer, Samantha Maxis have red eyes. By far he is the most interesting Nazi Zombies character, in my opinion, right next to Nicholai the Russian character. He absolutely loves blood and gore, and his favorite past-time appears to be torture, murder, and inflicting pain on others. In fact he joined the military just to achieve these pleasures. According to his backstory, he attempted to murder his partner and friend, Dr. Maxis because he was being distracted by the secretary known as Sophia, and this affair put a kink in the manufacturing of the chain lightning bolt weapon, the DG-2 Wunderwaffe and the whole incident ended up creating the Hell Hounds and the zombie outbreak. Also he owns a collection of stuffed animals positioned to show the fear and suffering they experienced prior to death. He manipulated the other zombie characters to do his bidding in order to become the Demonic Announcer and the leader of all zombies by body switching with Samantha Maxis. Everything that he says, even his tone of voice gives the feeling of insanity, in fact he has proven to have schizophrenic tendencies. Overall he has a very interesting personality, his quotes are often funny in a twisted way, he is evil to the bone and is perhaps one of the most twisted, demented, and overall insane villains that we know.

BREAKING NEWS!!!    (7/5/13)

 

As of the Black Ops 2 Vengeance DLC pack, in the zombies map Buried, it is revealed that Dr. Maxis is the true antagonist, with a sudden twist of events and Dr. Maxis betrays the Green Run group, and can usurp (player determined) Richtofen as Demonic Announcer. Then he would attempt to get back to his Daughter, Samantha who is in Richtofen's body due to the Easter egg, Richtofen's Grand Scheme on the Moon in Black Ops 1. By trying to reach out to her can very well cause the end of the world (despite the fact it was already blown up by nukes due to the events on Moon). Richtofen may have been crazy and sadistic, but his control over the zombies was very limited if not non-existent, but Dr. Maxis just suddenly proved to be more evil and selfish by risking the very destruction of Earth and the rest of the survivors to just be with the daughter who may or may not be alive. He may have posed as a good guy at first but Buried showed his true intentions, the madness he harbors - I sure as hell didn't see it coming and I am sure interested in how far his ambitions will get him.
