Deathwing
World of Warcraft
Evil: Wants to destroy world for the sole purpose of destroying the world.
Insanity: Fixated on destroying the world entirely and total and complete destruction
Powers: Could've destroyed the world if he wanted to, Insanity is what keeps him alive during the second fight, can set entire zones ablaze, Incredibly Charismatic and deceitful.
Occupation: Aspect of Death, Avatar of Death, The Destroyer, The Protector, Patriarch of the Black Dragonflight

Description: Deathwing is by far the most menacing of Blizzards villains. It would appear that he is in some way involved with many villains in the Warcraft universe. His daughter Onyxia provoked the creation of the Defias crime syndicate, his son ruled the Blackrock Orc clan, he made Firelord Ragnaros as well as the Windlord Al'akir his pawns of destruction, is worshipped by the Twilights Hammer Cult, and he even commands the most ancient of the Faceless Generals and has power on par with the old gods. His ties in lore are further extended by his connections to Ragnaros and Al'akir, the Blackrock Clan, and Twilights Hammer. Surprisingly though, Deathwing was not always evil, he used to be the protector of the world rather than its destroyer, but this is because he lives underground for extended periods of time because of his affinity for the ground, making him easy prey to the maddening voices of the Old Gods, corrupting him into one of their most powerful pawns. He did their bidding and had him trick his allies into giving up some of their power in order to create an ungodly powerful weapon, the Dragon's Soul (later called the Demon Soul). This weapon would be used against the Burning Legion led by Sargeras' lieutenants, Archimonde and Mannoroth during the War of the Ancients, needless to say the weapon worked, however it was in the possession of Deathwing when he revealed his true colors. The display of power was so horrifying that even Demons ran for their lives... more scared of Deathwing than the wrath of their master, however the Eredar and Dreadlords tried to fight back despite they too had a deep fear of him. Unfortunately for Deathwing, his own hatred began to fester into a physical form and it started to destroy his body as pure lava, seeping out of his heart. Over time, Deathwing has been defeated time after time again, believed to be dead each time, but after each defeat, he falls back to his secret lair and has his die-hard minions infuse his skin with metal - eventually Deathwing became a living blacksmith product, having his body replaced entirely with metals, of which he upgrades every now and then to rarer substances. Deathwing is hell bent on destroying the world no matter the cost, calling his own children expendable, but unlike Kefka from Final Fantasy VI, Deathwing is no laughing matter and is definitely not funny. In the distant future when Deathwing makes his grand reappearance in World of Warcraft Cataclysm, he once again put on a display of power and destroyed various parts of the world by just flying by, his reemergence has caused catastrophes all over the place, the Barrens now has a gaping chasm in the middle, Thousand Needles is flooded, the dam in Loch Modan was destroyed, Auberdine was annihilated, and the Park in Stormwind is now a crater, along with damages to other places. Deathwing is a villain that scares me, for when the sky turns red, there is no where to run, nowhere to hide, for Deathwing will decimate an entire zone in mere seconds at random - but I'm not sure if he does this anymore, but he did and I have no idea what zones other than the low level ones were safe from this deranged dragon. Anyway when players were finally able to fight Deathwing, in the first round you had to fight on his back to tear off pieces of his armor until he fell into the Maelstrom. After that, what little that was probably left of Neltharian is gone, all that is left is Deathwing's insanity, which is the only thing keeping him alive at this point and now he has deformities all over his body, tentacles have grown thanks to his corruption. Deathwing put up one hell of a last stand but in the end the combined might of the other Dragon Aspects and players proved to be too much for his insanity to handle and he was (most likely) slain for good. The Dragon Aspects gave up their immortality and likely most of their power to kill him, similar to how the night elves killed Archimonde. It is unknown as to how many people Deathwing's actions have caused however it can be estimated to be in the millions. On paper both fights with Deathwing sounded epic, but in the end they were just flat out stupid, the first round he could've easily won but the only attack he made himself was barrel rolling like he was playing Star Fox repeatedly just before hand. He instead left most of the fight to his BLOOD which actually proved to be a formidable opponent. The final fight with Deathwing utilized a ridiculous platforming mechanic, plus it was more of a fight with his adds rather than the Aspect of Death. Although I find Deathwing to be a rather interesting villain, deceiving, conniving, calculative, and a very unique boss, his biggest flaw is the fact that he became a stereotypical evil Black Dragon, but he plays the part of villain very well, in his wake however, he left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten by veterans. If only the rest of the expansion was as fun as the one before and people that could comprehend Warcraft lore. The unfortunate part is that many people don't appreciate what a great contribution to lore cataclysm was and worst of all complained about the lack of level 85 activities. What most people don't realize is that Blizzard redid the ENTIRE CLASSIC AREA which essentially redoing half the game and made leveling tolerable for me again. For people who have been around since classic, everything that once was has been changed except for quests in Silithus and Arathi.
