For the sake of having more posts, we will exclude the last boss, Andross out of our descriptions of each boss and save him for a future post
List of Levels
Middle path is easy
Top path is medium
Bottom path is hard
Easy
Attack Carrier
Description: This boss appears in both Corneria Easy and Corneria Medium. It is the obvious commander of the invading force considering it has a foreboding approach and it is the only intimidating enemy in both easy and medium Corneria. The ship's weak points are blatantly obvious as it exposes them every time it attacks. There isn't any difference between easy and medium aside the fighters that launch out of the hangar shoot rockets instead of lasers. The only hard thing about this boss (which isn't very difficult to begin with) is that after you disarm it of its three weapons, it will go and change up its attack plan and shoot plasma balls at you, which aren't much different than lasers except you can deflect them with barrel rolls. This boss was later remade for Star Fox 64 as a secret boss in you guessed it, Corneria and in that game Fox interacted with the pilot.
Meteo Crusher
Description: A slightly tougher boss than the Attack Carrier, but also suffers from blatantly obvious weak points, but unlike the Carrier, Meteo Crusher (also known as Rock Crusher) has a lack of weapons, sticking to lasers and on a rare occasion missiles. When all of its blasters are destroyed, it will hurl its armor at you and then starts shooting plasma balls and missiles. This boss appears in both Sector X and Asteroid Belt. On medium, the only part that gets 'harder' is that he changes up his attack pattern. This boss was also remade... but the entire thing underwent a complete overhaul except both variants have more than one phase.
Atomic Base I (Reactor)
Description: Atomic Base appears in both Space Armada, and Sector Z and is my least favorite boss in the game, the boss itself doesn't have many weapons to attack you with but the boss changes up how you play because you are stuck rotating around it and you have to shoot the triangular devices on the sides of the room as they shoot out a purple laser at the Core, destroying these is the only way to expose the core. In the meantime some kind of small fighter will spawn randomly and their lasers pack quite a punch. Sector Z's Reactor is much harder, as it has more health and you cannot destroy the devices, only enable and disable them, which with the degraded accuracy due to the rotating around the room, it is pretty hard, probably the third hardest boss in the Hard route. Anyway I believe that the Reactor at Space Armada is the toughest boss on easy. Compared to most bosses though, the Reactor/Core or whatever you want to call it has the most laughable health pool, Great Commander is exempt from this, but we will get to him. Also this boss, along with Attack Carrier was remade as the Bolse Core, although with a few changes. When you finally destroy this thing, the destruction of the core causes a massive explosion, probably the largest one in the game. I wasn't expecting him to be in Sector Z when I finally got to him, and as soon as I saw corridors similar to the ones from Space Armada... I.... was.... pissed. I actually got a game over on this one and I was so ashamed of myself that I just stopped playing for a while.
Dancing Insector
Description: Dancing Insector is one of the more interesting bosses in the game, its legs are both a weapon and a weak point. When the legs turn red, that is when you can start dealing any real damage to them. When the legs are destroyed, it will start to hurl fireballs at you. This boss killed me on my first try because I didn't know what to expect from him. This is probably the toughest on Easy (I only said Atomic Base I because it takes me longer to hit the devices). Curiously, this boss is supposed to be an insect - yet it looks like a spider, of which spiders are not insects, they are arachnids.
Phantron
Description: This boss is a three part fight, the first time he retreats to Venom's surface, and after a second defeat, he transforms. Phantron I is an extremely weak foe, relying on duplication to through you off. Phantron II catches you off guard and this time he uses plasma balls and kicks. Phantron II is still fairly easy, but is considerably more dangerous than Phantron I. The name is most likely a way to make Phantom sound robotic. Speaking of Phantoms, that reminds me of Star Wars episode 1.
Andross
Medium
Attack Carrier
Meteo Crusher
Professor Hangar
Description: Also called Professor Hanger, this robotic boss is neither a person nor a professor. This boss turned Titania into a winter wonderland and after you solve a small puzzle to get rid of all of the snow so that you can escape the endless loop, you'll find this robot hanging from a ceiling in a structure and you have to fight him as he attempts to cross the endless body of water. His primary attack consists of releasing flying fish that will try to fly directly at you. Though he is an easy target, he has one of the largest health pools in the game. Some people seem to have had difficulty with this guy, but when I fought him, I didn't think that he wasn't much tougher than Dancing Insector. He is also one of the three only characters outside of Team Star Fox that talks - albeit only using text which is displayed on the black box on his body. I've heard from friends that this guy will actually try to heal himself by backing off and sending out a swarm of fish at you, but I've never let him stay alive long enough to see this. As I had stated previously, he is a robot that hangs from the ceiling... and his name is Professor Hangar (or Hanger as the end of the game calls him), this is a really, really bad pun. To be honest though, I actually enjoyed the fight a little and the level as well.
Plasma Hydra
Description: *shivers* This boss is just a disaster waiting to happen. Considered by many to be one of the toughest bosses in the game. Personally I didn't think that the weak point on this boss was obvious, as I thought the shiny blue part on it's back was it, but as it turns out, it is actually the claws on its arms that fire out streams of plasma balls. Barrel rolling is very helpful for this boss but, this boss is hard to read as it acts like a wild animal. Sector Y was hard enough as it was, but it also has a hard boss as well. When I go back to play this, I often wonder how I beat this guy on my first try when I was younger when I could be killed by Meteo Crusher at Sector X depending on how much health that I had left. Do not shoot at the claws when the hydra is spraying plasma balls, shoot them when he is down and you will see the bulges on his arms move towards him as if he is sucking them in like a straw which will only hurt him, if the bulges are moving away, he is shooting at you. When you destroy an arm, it'll grow back like the heads on the Greek Mythological beast, also called the Hydra (it was later killed by Hercules/Heracles). When both arms stop growing back, the Hydra will pull a last ditch effort to kill you and will grow a tentacle out of its mouth and swing it around like some children would do with a jump rope. If I recall correctly, the tentacle will also shoot plasma balls as well, but at this point the hydra is completely vulnerable. While you are in Sector Y, avoid those parasites, the giant manta rays, and destroy anything that shoots at you because you cannot risk clipping a wing here if you have double or plasma blasters or the boss will be a bit tougher. One final warning: when you defeat this thing, it will make one final bid to hurl itself at you before it is sent flying back to blow up.
Metal Smasher
Description: Although basic in design, Metal Smasher doesn't need many methods of attack like some of the other bosses, it only needs the one - the smashing. I'm not sure what to call the two 'Smasher's' but neither of them has lasers or even missiles and plasma balls, instead it tries to crush you like a car compactor as a primary attack, and it is absolutely devastating. If you do avoid this attack, they'll hurl some kind of garbage at you. If you do manage to destroy one of the Smashers, the survivor will deploy some sort of escape pod-like vehicle which will head down to the surface. This vehicle is the Galactic Rider. Once the Galactic Rider escapes, the remaining Smasher just self-destructs. Note that this is the only Venom boss that isn't fought at least twice, of course excluding Andross.
Galactic Rider
Description: This thing is just a giant truck. That's it, however it has similarities to previous bosses on the medium path. For starters it exposes its weak point (like the Carrier) with one of its two attacks (Metal Smasher also only has two attacks). Like the Carrier and Hangar, one of its primary attacks is to send out adds (additional enemies), and like Carrier this reveals a weak spot (in Rider's case its only weak spot). Unlike any of the other bosses in the game, Galactic Rider will try to ram you head on, which is about as devastating as being crushed by the Metal Smasher, at least that is what I believe.
Andross
Hard
Destructor
Description: I was actually surprised to find out that the Attack Carrier was in pieces in the Hard route on Corneria. Destructor is some kind of tank and is much tougher than the Carrier. This is one boss that I'm not sure as to how to explain, but like Carrier, the Destructor also suffers from blatantly obvious weak spots. The turrets are shielded by some kind of triangular object that will fly at you when two of them are destroyed. I can't come up with anything else to say about the Destructor.
Blade Barrier
Description: Blade Barrier is one nasty boss, as it is significantly tougher than both Attack Carrier and Meteo Crusher. In the same level as this boss, there is a path to a secret level called Out of this Dimension, but we'll come back to that. Blade Barrier has a pretty obvious weak spot as well, but the blades protect them by deflecting or blocking lasers. Barrier also has missiles and a tractor beam that will pull you in to slice your Arwing into millions of broken metal and bits of fox. As a last resort before blowing up, Barrier will launch it's Blades at you. When I first saw this boss my initial reaction was it being a giant space blender. Try to take as little damage as possible incase the Barrier reflects your own lasers back at you if you do accidentally shoot it while the blades are spinning. Also steer well away from silver meteors because several times I've seen a floating skull that reminds me of the Moon from Majora's Mask and touching those can deal heavy damage or clip your wings, which you do not want a clipped wing for this fight. These skulls are extremely rare in the Easy Asteroid Belt, but they will actually try to follow your movement.
Monarch Dodora
Description: Ah Fortuna, the planet that will leave you with a lot of WTF's. Fortuna is a very strange planet, on par with Sector Y's strangeness. Fortuna is home to many strange critters and flora, and one of them is Monarch Dodora, an obvious reference to one of Godzilla's nemesis' King Ghidorah
There is also some resemblance, albeit Dodora is a twin headed bird-like dragon. Do not let Dodora's relatively small health pool fool you, he is tough and there are few breaks during the fight. From what I can tell his attack pattern is completely random, like a wild beast. It returns in Star Fox Command as a ghost. It mostly hops around and swings its tail around, lays eggs, and obviously fire breath. Its weak spot is actually the flashing tip on its tail and you have to shoot it until it shortens and when it turns around shoot its heads to shorten the neck and until both parts grow back entirely, any shot will hurt him. Anyway this boss gave me some difficulty but I eventually killed it.
Atomic Base II (Reactor)
Spinning Core
Description: I honestly do not remember how this fight went, or even the level, just that this device spun around like a top shooting lasers. and it folds out to reveal weapons, there is a weak spot on the bottom part that will be revealed. When the core of the Spinning Core is revealed, it is protected by glowing orbs that will block any shot. I assume that the boss was very easy since I've never been killed by it, but I know I died at least once on the way to him. It can be noted that it looks similar to the Atomic Base, but not nearly as annoying.
Great Commander I
Description: This battleship is actually 3 ships that combine together to make one big one. To me though it looks like a Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer or something like that. This is quite easily either the hardest boss in the game or at the very least the second toughest (toughest boss is either this or Andross Hard path). DO NOT underestimate the almost miniscule health pool for this boss because you have to hit tiny weak points perfectly while under constant fire. I actually only beat this boss once because it was so hard and smart bombs don't really do anything to help. Once all of the ships turrets are destroyed, you win this fight. This fight will test all of you skills, your laser dodging, your aim, and your barrel rolling. This is a duel, and probably the toughest one that you will fight in this game. It is a fight to the death, and if anybody reading this has ever beaten the Great Commander, I commend your skills. The Commander will throw a lot of stuff at you, from lasers, to missiles, to plasma balls, and one of the ship parts will dump trash at you similar to the Metal Smasher's trash before the part combines with the others.
Great Commander II
Description: If you lived this far, then either your extremely good, or that damn lucky. If you have played Super Smash Bros. Brawl, you might say that this robot mode is awfully similar to one of the characters *cough* R.O.B. *cough*. Fortunately though there is a weak spot that is much easier to hit on the bottom part. The arms will constantly bombard you with Iron Balls (see the above picture as it lists this as its primary weapon). Once the bottom ship is destroyed, immediately go for the head (the smallest component of the Great Commander). Once the head is destroyed, the remaining ship will for some reason explode. When compared to the first form in Venom Space, this boss is a much needed reprieve before the final battle with Andross (Hard route), who will put up one hell of a fight.
Andross
Out of this Dimension!
Secret Boss
Description: Alright I'll admit I never made it to this secret level, although I know how, I just can't do the trick right. This is hands down the most hilarious boss fight in the Star Fox series - it is a giant Slot Machine in some sort of distorted dimension where everything is oscillating. To beat it you must get triple stars. Getting one Andross face will result in you getting shot at. But there is a twist to this level, as it never ends. The credits will roll by as you fly endlessly through space and you have to shoot at some letters to spell out The End but you can't as regular enemies from other levels will swoop in and scramble the letters, and these enemies will spawn infinitely. Death is certain as health is a rare drop and though it is not revealed as to what happens to Team Star Fox, it can be assumed by the Mission Briefing that Andross will take advantage of the disappearance of the team and conquer the Lylat System. There is no end, but it will be your end.

Here is a video of a guy getting flawless victories over every boss in the game without smart bombs
Also Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and any other holiday that I may have missed
