Description: Herobrine is one tricky subject, there is evidence that he doesn't exist yet there is evidence that he does, but a lot of the evidence that suggests that he does is fake, especially the first reported sighting. He is much like Slenderman in nature and is just as disputed. Very similarly to Slender, all evidence that is presented is either clearly fake, possibly fabricated or very believable. Let's assume that he is real, despite the word of Notch, for the sake of this post. Herobrine is like a ghost in Minecraft, and invokes terror when seen, since there shouldn't be any other Steve's in single player. If you see a tree without leaves, strange structures like pyramids, or booby trapped caves, chances are Herobrine was around (assuming he is real, and if it is in single player mode). Most sightings of Herobrine have been when visibility is low. It can be assumed that he is a virus since it appears that no entity like this is written in the games code. He looks a lot like Steve except he has no pupils. If you do happen to see him and nobody else is on your server, this might be a message to stop playing, but that will never happen since he doesn't exist. The legend of Herobrine started from a single picture and apparently came from creepy-pasta, but gained little attention until YouTuber Copeland photo shopped him into several pictures and the Herobrine that was in his video was confirmed to be a retextured painting, but since the stream, Herobrine had reached meme status. Notch is absolutely adamant about the fact that Herobrine is fake, and goes so far as to delete threads about him in the forums in at most 5 minutes. There are several theories about who or what Herobrine is. Some say he doesn't exist at all, some say he is a virus, some say he is a hacker. Some have said he is actually a hacker hired by Notch himself which also supports the theory he is Notch's deceased brother (who supposedly never existed.) Other's say he is Notch's brother's ghost and some believe it is Notch himself. None of these theories are proven and Herobrine will most likely live on as an urban legend
